FAQ

Do you remake designs?

If you want a remake of an existing design, I highly recommend joining the commission waitlist. The likelihood that I remake a design for a shop restock is quite low, as I prefer to explore new things.

The price to remake an existing design is roughly the same as the original, and does not cost the full custom price. A price guide is available on the waitlist form!

Do you take commissions?

I have a commission waitlist, where you can register your interest! I cannot guarantee a commission slot or a deadline because of my schedule, but you can enter the waitlist here.

What are blanks?

Blanks are a technique used in dicemaking where the maker first creates dice shapes without numbers which are slightly smaller than their dice sizes. They can decorate the exterior of these much more easily, and when they’re done with decorating they cast them into numbered shells and they finally become dice. Imagine making small ice cubes so you can put decorations on the outside, and then putting them in a bigger ice cube tray so the decorations are also encased in ice.

This allows for a lot of very exciting possibilities, but it also takes much more time and effort! That’s why sets created using blanks are often a higher price.

What are uninked dice?

If a product is finished but has the uninked tag, that means that they have been polished but not inked. They can be inked by me at no additional cost, and of course the colour is up to you! Please allow up to 3 weeks for inking (it will likely not take that long). Otherwise, feel free to take paint to them yourself and get creative! There are many tutorials online for different methods to ink dice, with all sorts of different supplies. I prefer paint, a paintbrush, and a trusty paper towel to clean the faces.

Dice Care

To take good care of your dice, please store them in a cool, dark, dry place. Try to keep them out of direct sunlight (especially for prolonged periods), as this can fade colours and heat them up. If you would like to re-ink your dice, do not use acetone! It will dissolve the resin. Instead, you can soak them in LA awesome and gently clean the numbers out with a soft toothbrush.

Everything is out of stock!

Leading up to a sale, all products available for preview will display as ‘Out of Stock’. Stock will be updated at the time of the shop drop!

Otherwise, it is very common for there to be very few products in stock. Keep an eye on my social media to see when I’ll be restocking!

If you are hoping to see the design you missed in the next restock, I highly recommend joining my commission waitlist. The chances that I remake a design for a shop restock are really low, as I prefer to explore new things. The pricing for a remake is roughly the same as the original, and will not cost you the full custom price. There is a full pricing guide on my waitlist form!

Are they balanced?

TLDR: Yes

Handmade dice are typically better balanced than factory made dice. They won’t be accepted in a casino (and neither will Chessex!), but they are great for TTRPGs! I take care not to send out dice with flaws that will affect balance (large air pockets, weighted inclusions, etc).

What are RAW dice?

RAW dice are unpolished and uninked! If you’re looking to dip your toes into dicemaking, this is a great option to try out polishing and inking yourself. I recommend using 3M Zona papers, and there are many tutorials online to help you through the rewarding process of finishing your own set of dice.

My RAW dice are sold from molds that require very little sanding, typically one face per die (two for a d20). I make sure to patch any surface bubbles with UV resin, so all they require is some sanding and polishing.

They are sold at a reduced price.

Are they edible?

No! I do not make ANY edible dice. Even if they are named after foods/beverages, they are not ingestible!
